Fried Okra at Twang! music festival, Pisa
Fried Okra’s coming to Twang! and at the festival they will be playing their bluesy stuff for the very first time in Italy.
With love for the simple, but powerful blues originating from especially the state of Mississippi, Fried Okra has developed their own universe with strong lyrics and hypnotic grooves.
At Twang Fried Okra’s joined by great european artists – for instance Kyla Brox, Great Britain and The Ragtime Rumours, Holland. Both artists has won the European Blues Challenge in which Fried Okra reach the second place in 2018.
Originally inspired by the Hill Country Blues of R.L Burnside and Junior Kimbrough, the songs by Fried Okra deal with such different themes as love, work and the memory of one’s past.
Many different musicians serve as role models for Fried Okra too – among them bluesman John Lee Hooker, swamp rocker Tony Joe White, modern blues virtuosos Alvin Youngblood Hart and Corey Harris, americana singer Lucinda Williams or the legendary Bob Dylan.
Please join the festival Twang! and look out for Fried Okra’s swampy sounds, bluesy stuff, alternative blues – well: Blues roots, and you name it!
